Too True

The sad thing: this isn't even a hyperbole. Perhaps more sad: I miss it.

With that, I must make fun of you! That was really fun though.

I always liked the words of Davy Crockett, because I am not a NATIVE Texan... I got there a week after I was born. "You all can go to hell, I'm goin' to Texas!" Micah you were right, it's not a hyperbole, Texas is the best and greatest state. Do you know your state reptile?

I was waiting for the shot of antlers on the hood of some old, red Ford pick-up....

You know, Nic went to Dallas (or maybe Houston?) once for a track meet, and as they were walking down the street some guys in a truck pretended to shoot at them with toy guns (i think)---interesting.

Another time she was in Louisiana, and while I'm sure it's insulting to compare TX with it, in my mind I see similiarities. :) Anyway, it was there that she saw her first drive-through alcohol shop. Sounds like a great idea to order a beer WHILE driving.

Excellent. :)

Of all the lovely birds, who knows we chose the mockingbird.

Yes, the beer barn is a Texas classic. To be argumentative I would venture to say that the antlers on the hood is a bit more Arkansas. Texas style would be state flag in the window of the red Ford truck complete with a gun rack, radio playing Pat Greene and mudding tires.

What can I say, we are indoctrinated at a young age. Here is how we started every mornin' in elementary school... pledge of allegiance, pledge to the Texas flag, then sing one of about 10 different state songs. who wouldn't love their state after that?

My current observation is that Virginians are nothing like I would have expected. Anybody who believes "rednecks" or "hicks" reside only in CA or TX has obviously not driven the "scenic routes" in VA.

I had the great pleasure to do this a couple days ago... ;)
