I love that. Can a haiku be 6, 2, 6? I really like it, but it's a new form to me.
This ain't your grandma's haiku.
Kerouac's work is actually pretty good. Some of it is a little too 'Zen' (even for me), but I did enjoy it. In the fine Western tradition, though, American Haiku is a bit of a hijacking of the original. But not without merit.
